OSSC Corrigendum 2024: Assistant Training Officer (ATO) Recruitment Update!

OSSC Corrigendum 2024

Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) has issued an important corrigendum regarding the recruitment of Assistant Training Officer (ATO)-2024 against Advertisement No. 1466/OSSC dated 30.03.2024. This update brings important changes in the shortlisting process for Practical Test.

Overview of the OSSC Corrigendum 2024

In the earlier notification, OSSC had mentioned that candidates would be shortlisted for Practical Test on the basis of merit, carrying approximately three times the number of vacancies (category-wise and trade-wise) after adding CITS weightage of 20 marks.

However, as per the latest corrigendum, the selection process has been amended as per Rule 6(2)B of the Odisha Government ITI Instructor Service (Methods of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2024.

What’s New in the OSSC Assistant Training Officer Recruitment?

According to the corrigendum:

  • All candidates who appeared in the Main Written Examination in their respective trades (ATO-NTC/NAC) will be eligible to appear for the Practical Test.
  • The earlier restriction of shortlisting three times more candidates than the number of vacancies on the basis of merit has been removed.
  • This decision ensures that every eligible candidate gets a fair opportunity to participate in the final selection process.

Important Points for Candidates

  • Candidates appearing in the main written exam will now automatically be eligible for the practical exam.
  • This decision has been taken in line with the latest Odisha Government ITI Instructor Service Recruitment Rules, 2024.
  • The updated selection process enhances transparency and fairness.
