Prioritising the safety of students and academic continuity, the university administration has implemented several initiatives to address concerns and ensure a safe learning environment.

Support for Nepali Students and Institutional Actions

In response to recent events, KIIT established a 24/7 control room to assist its Nepali student community. Additionally, following an internal review, disciplinary action was taken against certain staff, reinforcing the university’s commitment to institutional policies and student welfare.

While initial reports indicated uncertainty among Nepali students regarding their return, university sources confirmed that most have resumed their studies, and the academic schedule is unaffected. Regular classes and campus activities are continuing without disruption.

Academic and Institutional Events Proceed as Planned

Despite the recent developments, KIIT has successfully organised a number of academic and extracurricular events, highlighting its resilience and commitment to holistic education:

• The East Zone Inter-University Cricket Championship saw the participation of 70 universities, with 1,600 players and officials competing on campus.
• Two international academic conferences – the 2nd International Workshop on Dam Safety and the International Conference on Recent Advances in Nanomedicine – were attended by over 500 delegates, including researchers, academicians and industry experts.
• The university hosted over 60 international academic leaders from institutions such as Harvard University and leading Japanese universities, facilitating meaningful interactions with students and faculty.
• Extracurricular events, including embassy meetings, academic discussions and institutional collaborations, continued without interruption.
• KIIT also served as the venue for the meeting of the Vice-Chancellors of the Central Zone of the Association of Indian Universities, strengthening its role in shaping higher education policies and governance.

Administration Reaffirms Commitment to Student Welfare

The university authorities have assured students and stakeholders of their commitment to ensuring a safe, stable and academically enriching environment. A KIIT spokesperson said, “Our focus remains on student safety, institutional stability and uninterrupted education.”

Though concerns initially emerged about possible disruptions, the administration confirmed that the academic session, research activities and institutional operations are back on track. The situation on campus is stable, with students actively participating in their courses and university events.
